How Totally Numb Connected Amazon UK and Tracks FBA Stock Separately

A UK skin comfort brand manages its stock across Shopify and Amazon with Channel Bay, connected its store to Amazon UK, and keeps the stock it sends to Amazon FBA apart from its own warehouse.

The Issue

Totally Numb is a UK tattoo and skin comfort brand, operated by Matrix Health Group. It sells comfort creams in four strengths, alongside professional sprays and aftercare products, for people preparing for tattoos, permanent makeup, piercings and other cosmetic skin procedures.

The brand sells through Shopify and on Amazon, with stock held in a main warehouse. When it installed Channel Bay on a second Shopify store, it wanted that store connected to Amazon UK. At the same time, it was starting to send stock into Amazon's own warehouses through Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA).

What Wasn't Working

Two parts of the setup didn't fit.

The first was the marketplace. The team needed its second store linked to Amazon UK, and Channel Bay's Amazon integration only offered the US region at the time.

The second was FBA. Stock sent to Amazon's warehouses is no longer on the shelf at the main warehouse, but it still belongs to the brand. The team wanted warehouse stock and FBA stock kept as two separate figures, not one blended total, with the FBA figure coming in from Amazon automatically.

Why They Chose Channel Bay

Channel Bay was already handling the brand's stock on Shopify when the Amazon UK gap came up. Channel Bay opened its Amazon integration to the Europe region within days, and the team connected Amazon UK to its second store.

That pattern is what the team values most. In their words, Channel Bay listens to feedback and keeps improving the system based on how businesses actually use it, and when something came up, the team investigated it properly, kept them updated and worked with them on a fix. The brand has since installed Channel Bay on a third Shopify store too.

How They Work Now

Multichannel sync keeps the brand's Shopify and Amazon stock in step. Channel Bay holds the count for each product at each location, and an order on one channel updates the others. The main warehouse is counted with stocktakes, and on submit Channel Bay applies the count and updates the connected channels.

FBA isn't part of Channel Bay's standard Amazon sync, so Channel Bay set up a separate FBA location for the brand. Quantities are read in from Amazon and kept apart from the main warehouse. The sync runs one way, from Amazon into Channel Bay, so when stock moves into FBA, Channel Bay's advice is to record it with a stock adjustment.

The Results

Totally Numb manages its inventory across Shopify and Amazon in one app, with Amazon UK connected and FBA stock tracked as its own location rather than mixed into the warehouse figure. In the team's words, Channel Bay is already making this much easier, and they would recommend it to other multichannel ecommerce businesses.
