How Eugene Textile Center Replaced Stocky's Purchase Orders
A fiber arts studio in Oregon tested many apps to replace Stocky's purchase orders. Channel Bay was the one that handled how it receives stock, and it now has a clean, line-item PO it can send suppliers.

“After testing many apps since knowing about the Stocky demise, Channel Bay has the most complete and useful suite of purchase order tools we have found to replace it.”

The Issue
Eugene Textile Center is a fiber arts studio and supplier in Eugene, Oregon, founded in 2008 by Suzie Liles and Marilyn Robert. It sells materials and equipment for weaving, spinning, dyeing and felting, and teaches lessons in all four.
Keeping that range in stock means a steady flow of purchase orders, and Eugene Textile Center created them in Stocky. When Shopify announced it was retiring Stocky, the team needed a new home for its purchase orders before Stocky went away.
What Wasn't Working
Finding that home took a while. The team tested many apps after learning Stocky was going, and many fell short on receiving. When a delivery comes in, the team needs to record cost adjustments, discounts and zero-dollar items against the order. In their experience, many apps don't offer even those three.
The document they send suppliers was the other gap. Their purchase orders can run long, and a supplier only needs the product, SKU, quantity and any notes. Channel Bay's invoice PDF included product photos and barcodes, which turned a long order into page after page. The team wanted something plain, like the Stocky purchase order they knew.

Why They Chose Channel Bay
Of the apps they tested, the team found Channel Bay's purchase order tools the most complete. Receiving was where it stood apart: cost adjustments, discounts and zero-dollar items can all be entered against the order as stock arrives.
Two everyday features turned out to be time savers once they started using it:
- Choose your columns. On each purchase order's editing view, the team turns columns on or off to see only what they need.
- Search the PO list. The overall purchase order list can be searched by SKU, item or vendor.
Receiving batches can also be reopened and corrected until the order is closed.
How They Work Now
The team creates purchase orders in Channel Bay by picking the SKUs they need from a supplier, and receives each delivery against the order, adding any adjustments, discounts or free items as it's booked in.
For suppliers, Channel Bay built the team a simplified purchase order PDF, modeled on their Stocky example: a clean line-item list with variant, SKU, quantity and notes, and no photos or barcodes. The invoice layout is still there when they want photos and barcodes. Any store can get a custom purchase order template built the same way, from its own sample.
The Results
Eugene Textile Center has replaced Stocky for creating and receiving purchase orders in Shopify, and the column control and PO search it relies on save the team time.
The supplier PDF went live on September 7, 2026, 12 days after the team first asked for it. They now have a plain purchase order they can send suppliers, in place of a long invoice-style document.
